Invention Convention
Twenty six students from Penn-Trafford attended the Invention
Convention, a function sponsored by the Westmoreland County Gifted
Coalition. Grades K-12 were represented, there were hundreds
of entries, and Penn-Trafford brought home some winners. In
the third grade division, Olivia Haberberger (Sunrise Estates
Elementary) received third place for her creative dog toy made
from recycled materials. In the fourth grade division, Jacob
Mursch (Trafford Elementary) received second place for his
waterproof TV remote that is solar powered and has a tracking
device (so it cannot get lost)! In the fifth grade division,
Teddy Taylor, (Sunrise Estates Elementary), received third
place for his invention of a computerized location board that
would be purchased by large department stores. Patrons of that
store would be able to find the location of items by simply
touching a screen in the front of the store. |
