Penn-Trafford High School Junior Annabelle Aquino was named High School Sports Journalist of the Year at Point Park University’s ‘Myron Cope Awards’ in March. The award recognizes high school sports journalism excellence in Western Pennsylvania.
Aquino has contributed to The Warrior, the school’s student newspaper, for the past two years.
In addition to Aquino’s award, The Warrior website, theptwarrior.com, received Honorable Recognition in two categories: Best High School Sports Website and Best Sports Coverage in a High School Newspaper.
Point Park University’s School of Communication, in collaboration with Myron Cope’s family, established these awards to honor excellence in high school athletic communication.
