Students Learn Through Classroom Crops

Students in Mr. Milavec’s 7th-grade Science classes at Penn Middle School are learning about the reproduction and growth of plants.  To reinforce the lesson, they grew various types of peppers and tomatoes in the classroom.

“The students are permitted to take their plants home with them at the end of the school year,” commented Mr. Milavec.  “They can plant their Roma tomato, cherry tomato, sweet banana pepper, or Hungarian yellow wax pepper plants, enjoy their harvest, and continue with this science phenomenon all summer long.”
