Penn-Trafford High School students Natalie Gross, Madison Setzenfand, Mia Smith, and Makenna Trainor held an Easter Party for the community as a project for their Media and Literacy Internship class. Approximately 200 children attended the event on April 12, which included an egg hunt, craft, games, and a picture with the Easter Bunny. Proceeds totaling $1,200 were donated to ‘Costumes for Courage’ which provides costumes for children to wear to their cancer treatments.
“We’re very grateful for the donations of eggs, candy, chips and drinks from the school employees and clubs,” said teacher Ms. Kathy Kelly-Garris, “and we’d like to thank PT’s Pizza Palace and Hungry Hank’s Pizzeria for providing the pizza free of charge.”
Madison Setzenfand was pleased with the results, stating “Watching the children’s faces light up as they made bunny ears, pinned the tail on the bunny, and hunted for eggs made all the planning worth it.”
