Animal Show Delights Elementary School Students

A grant from PPG Industries enabled Harrison Park Elementary School (Penn-Trafford School District) to bring the ‘Wild World of Animals’ show to the school for an assembly in early October.

Grant and Jamie Kemmerer, who specialize in animal conservation and educational wildlife shows, brought a variety of interesting and exotic animals to the school. Animals included a crocodile, a blood python, a snake neck tortoise, a prehensile-tailed porcupine, a sloth, a laughing kookaburra, a falcon, and a cerval (a large cat that resembles a cheetah).  Mr. Kemmerer shared many interesting animal facts, and the kids enjoyed a memorable day.

Teachers Katie Caruso, Meg Cumberledge, Bre Haywood, and Angie Mastroianni spearheaded the grant application.
