Students in Ms. Michelle Stewart’s science classes at Trafford Middle School (Penn-Trafford School District) are enjoying a hands-on science project on seed germination and plant care. To begin the lesson, the students used three different methods to germinate a variety of seeds (vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs): in a plastic cup with soil, on a moistened cotton ball in a plastic bag and in a peat pot with peat moss under a grow lamp.
To date, all three methods have been successful. The classes will continue to monitor the plant growth through the end of the school year.
