Community Foundation of Westmoreland County

Since its inception, The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County has made in excess of $6.5 million in grants to local charitable organizations. It currently administers over 210 component funds and $12 million in assets. The mission of The Community Foundation is to encourage local residents to become philanthropists, provide grants that support a wide variety of charitable organizations and serve as a community leader.

$6,000 Grant 2007-2008

The Penn-Trafford School district received a $6,000 Grant to support our Cognitive Tutor Mathematics Program.

These funds were part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program of the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County.

$10,000 Grants (2) 2006-2007

The Penn-Trafford School District received two $10,000 grants this year through the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County.

The first $10,000 grant to support out Cognitive Tutor Math Program at the high school came from the Foundation's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program.

The second $10,000 grant was used to purchase five SMART 64" interactive whiteboards and five Mitsubishi Data/Video Projectors and was made possible by Irwin Bank's participation in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.

Our students and staff wish to thank the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, Irwin Bank and all businesses that help to fund the Foundation's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program.

Contributions can be made to the fund at any time. Donors should make checks payable to "CFWC - Penn-Trafford Fund". The Foundation will acknowledge all donations.
